Can you believe we are already in the second week of 2016?!

I am so excited about what 2016 has to offer and hope time will start slowing down now that the festive season is well and truly over.

I hope you all had a lovely Christmas and New Years. Sorry for being quiet on the blog for the past month but I ended up taking this time to recharge my batteries and now I am ready to make 2016 the best year yet!

The beginning of a new year is often a time that many of us will declare New Year’s Resolutions or set new goals. As a ‘recovering perfectionist’ I have not taken this approach for 2016. Instead,  I am going to focus on how I want to feel this year and set any intentions based on that. Continue reading

Beginner’s green smoothie

My New Year’s resolution this year was to have a green smoothie a day. Mainly because I wasn’t eating enough fruit and veg and figured drinking them would be the best way to get over my ‘fussy’ issues!

To get started I knew I needed to keep it fairly sweet and stick to what I liked. I had tried green smoothies in my old blender in the past and had always felt like I was eating them, especially if it was kale! The greens just wouldn’t blend enough for my tastes. But with my Thermomix that isn’t a problem anymore 🙂

So here’s my go to green smoothie. Definitely good to try as a beginner green smoothie.

2 handfuls kale (or baby spinach)
2 frozen bananas
1 cup mango
1 cup pineapple
2 cups coconut water
1 handful ice

Blitz on speed 10 for 1 minute
Makes 2 serves
