Beef stew with Buttermilk dumplings

 
This recipe for Beef Stew with Buttermilk Dumplings was the perfect meal for today’s rainy weather.

The prep is quick and easy and while the total cook time is 1hour and 40 minutes it is well worth the wait!

The recipe calls for a cheap cut of steak which is great for the hip pocket and because it is slow cooked you don’t notice the difference in quality of meat 🙂

But the best part of this recipe has to be the buttermilk dumplings. The dough is so simple to mix together and really easy to roll into balls and leave in the Varoma dish and tray. In the last 35min of cooking time the Varoma goes on to steam the dumplings and then dinner is done!
